Along with the Department of Chemistry at the National Technological University - La Plata Regional Faculty, we investigate thermochromic systems to reversibly change colors in response to temperature changes. This includes developing irreversible processes for permanent color transformations for uses such as manipulation indication. The experiments make use of customized nanoparticles and microencapsulation to generate novel compounds with specialized functionality. This allows for advancements in areas such as functionalized membranes and porous structures for filtration\/separation applications.<br>\nBeyond material innovations, <strong>we drive the capabilities of sensors and devices<\/strong>. The projects explore the addition of detection modalities to microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) such as inertial, pressure, thermal, and gas sensors. The applications range from monitoring infrastructures to wearable devices. We also research energy harvesting devices and radiofrequency identification (RFID) systems to create novel applications for smart and connected technologies.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><\/div><!--close column table wrapper.
